Investigating why students in Nigeria perceive education as a scam

Despite the outstanding benefits of education to individual and society, some students in Nigeria are saying education/schooling is a scam. No study has been undertaken determine why say education/school This aims provide empirical evidence on meaning slogan ‘education/school scam’, using way out. A semi-structured questionnaire was used elicit information from public schools/institutions two states Nigeria. The findings show that means uneducated people doing better financially, many graduates unemployed. They also unsatisfied with Nigerian educational system. Poor societal values, unemployment, poor curriculum were reasons gave for slogan. suggested government should work be more practically oriented toward skills acquisition. implications this study’s include an update existing theories factors influence students’ attitudes beliefs about need tailor policy, teaching methods meet needs students. provides scam’. Further studies needed confirm other in-depth interviews.
